HCMC – Myanmar Airways International (MAI) has launched its new service between Yangon and Vietnam, with its maiden flight landing at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on September 19.

Flights on the Yangon-Hanoi route are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays, with a flight time of two hours, the local media reported.

Besides, MAI will operate the Yangon-HCMC service with one flight a week, starting September 22. The airline will use Airbus A320 aircraft for all its flights between the two countries.

Myanmar Airways International has become one of the three first international airlines to open direct air services to Hanoi City after a two-year suspension due to the Covid pandemic, after Cambodia Angkor Air and Thai Smile Airways.

MAI’s service to Noi Bai has raised the number of domestic and international airlines operating at the airport to 57. These air carriers help connect Hanoi City with 60 international destinations and 17 local sites.

In addition, Noi Bai is working with several airlines from Asian and European countries to expand the air transport market.
