HCMC – The National Assembly is considering the possibility of convening an extraordinary session in mid-January next year to review certain draft laws and address pressing issues, according to NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
During the 28th session of the NA Standing Committee in Hanoi, Hue highlighted the need to examine and resolve several crucial matters and draft laws that were not passed during the NA’s sixth sitting.
Two significant draft laws, the amended Land Law and the amended Law on Credit Institutions, await approval. Additionally, matters related to national marine planning, pilot resolutions for specific mechanisms in three national target programs, as well as various financial and budgetary issues require attention.
To address these urgent issues and lingering matters, the NA is likely to hold an extraordinary session. Moreover, important national projects, prepared by the Government but not presented during the sixth sitting, will be introduced in this upcoming sitting.
The 28th meeting of the NA Standing Committee in Hanoi, which started on December 13, will also focus on drawing lessons from the NA’s sixth sitting and discussing preparations for the NA’s next session.
Over the course of the three-day meeting, lawmakers will consider approving the working program and the foreign affairs and international cooperation program for 2024.
