National Assembly set to elect new State President tomorrow

HCMC – The National Assembly (NA) will hold an extraordinary session tomorrow, March 2, to elect a new State President.

The post of State President has been left vacant since the National Assembly relieved Nguyen Xuan Phuc from the post.

Tonight the NA Office issued a press release announcing the fourth extraordinary session of the 15th legislature in Hanoi.

Shortly after the election tomorrow, the new President’s swearing-in ceremony will be held and broadcast live by Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam and National Assembly Television.

Earlier today, the Party Central Committee met in Hanoi and introduced a candidate for the post of State President in the 2021-2026 tenure.
