In related news, an eight-month baby in Ca Mau Province got vaccinated against Covid-19, instead of other diseases.

Today, doctor Pham Minh Kha, deputy director of the Ca Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, said the baby was being monitored at the hospital. Her health was stable and could be discharged from hospital in the next few days.

On April 1, the Ca Mau Center for Disease Control (CDC) received the news that the baby was administered the Pfizer vaccine in Tam Giang Tay Commune and sent a delegation to the commune to clarify the incident.

Nguyen Quan Phu, deputy director of the provincial CDC, said right after the incident, local medical workers instructed the baby’s parents ways to monitor and take care of her.

However, to ensure her safety, she was transferred to the medical center of Ngoc Hien District and then to the Ca Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

The provincial Department of Health has ordered a review of Covid vaccinations to prevent similar incidents from repeating.

The province has suspended the medical worker involved in the incident.
