HCMC – The northern province of Ninh Binh is envisioned to become a centrally-governed city in 2035, characterized by its millennium-old urban heritage and innovative spirit.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision on March 5 approving the provincial planning of Ninh Binh for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050, reported the VnExpress news site.

Envisioned as a centrally-governed city, Ninh Binh is poised to emerge as a key hub for high-value brands in tourism, cultural industries, and the heritage economy. Additionally, it aims to lead the nation in the transportation engineering sector.

With specific targets in mind, Ninh Binh aims to achieve a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) per capita of around VND200 million annually and to rank among the top 10 provinces with the highest per capita income in the country. Moreover, the province aims to reduce its poverty rate to below 2%.

To realize these ambitious goals, Ninh Binh will focus on developing its automotive engineering industry, embracing high technology, and fostering tourism and cultural industries that are intricately linked to high-end products and services, thereby enhancing their brand value.
