HCMC – A cold air mass is expected to hit northern Vietnam this evening, February 22, causing temperatures to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
Northeastern provinces such as Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Hoa Binh see temperatures dipping to 17-20 degrees Celsius.
In mountainous areas, temperatures are lower, at 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, and could drop below 12 degrees Celsius in some upland areas.
It may rain in the northeast region from the night of February 22 to 24, while the north-central region might experience thunderstorms accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning, and strong winds from February 23 to 24.
In the northern area of the Gulf of Tonkin, strong winds at level 5 are expected and sea waves at 1.5-2.5 meters. Meanwhile, the northeast of the East Sea will have strong winds at level 6, with sea waves reaching 2-4 meters.
