HCMC – More than 188,000 car license plates, including highly sought-after ones, in all of the country’s 63 centrally-governed cities and provinces, will be put up for auction, with significant proceeds projected to be generated.
These license plates will be auctioned in multiple sessions, with the number of plates per session determined by the auction organizer.
Among the license plates to be auctioned, Hanoi takes the lead with 27,300 plates, followed by HCMC with 17,970.
The upcoming auctions will feature 26 sought-after license plates with identical five-digit numbers, as per information available on the online auction website.
Of particular interest is the Hanoi-registered license plate 30K-888.88, which has already attracted nearly 1,000 participants.
Similarly, plates such as 30L-333.33 from Hanoi, 51L-555.55 from HCMC, and 43A-888.88 from Danang have also attracted considerable attention.
As per the original plan, the starting price for a car license plate will be set at VND40 million, with the required deposit being the same as the starting price, and the minimum price step set at VND5 million.
