HCMC – People who return or travel to Dong Nai from HCMC and Binh Duong Province must show a negative Covid-19 test result from July 5, as the province is working on intensifying Covid-19 prevention and control measures.

The decision was made as the development of Covid-19 in Binh Duong and HCMC, which border Dong Nai Province, remains complicated, according to the Dong Nai government.

The Covid-19 test must be done within seven days ahead of their arrival, the local media reported.

In the current fourth wave of the coronavirus, which began on April 27, Binh Duong has reported over 300 domestic Covid-19 cases, while HCMC has detected over 3,500 infections, posing a high risk of transmission in Dong Nai Province.

Workers who live in HCMC or Binh Duong Province and are working at firms or production facilities in Dong Nai Province were encouraged to rent houses or stay at lodging facilities near their workplaces to avoid the daily travel between the two localities, minimizing the risk of transmission.

In addition, the firms and factories in the province were called on to arrange accommodation for their employees to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and ensure their production and business operations.

The provincial government also asked firms to strictly follow Covid-19 safety protocols.

People or vehicles passing through Dong Nai Province from HCMC and Binh Duong to other localities must make health declarations and ensure they don’t stop to rest or for meals in the province.
