HCMC – Phu Nhuan Jewelry JSC (PNJ) looks to obtain VND48.66 trillion in revenue and nearly VND3.41 trillion in after-tax profit this year, up 37% and 21% from a year earlier, respectively.
The targets were presented at the company’s annual shareholders meeting in HCMC on April 22.
First-quarter net revenue surged 79% year-on-year to VND17.25 trillion, while after-tax profit rose 2.2-fold to VND1.47 trillion, according to the jewelry retailer.
PNJ attributed the increase to its retail network, product offerings, marketing activities and raw material supply. Wholesale jewelry revenue rose 33.9%, while 24K gold sales rocketed 324.7%.
The company has achieved more than 35% of its revenue target and over 43% of its profit goal after the first three months.
Despite that, PNJ reported 2025 revenue of VND35.41 trillion, exceeding its plan by 12%. Gross margin rose to 22% from 17.6%. After-tax profit reached VND2.83 trillion, up 34% year-on-year and 44% above target.
The VN-Index added 23.82 points, or 1.3%, to close at 1,857.3 points, driven by gains in Vingroup-family stocks.
The Hochiminh Stock Exchange saw 111 advancers and 194 decliners. Trading volume reached 708 million shares worth VND21.39 trillion, down 18.3% in volume and 14.3% in value from the previous session. Block deals accounted for 146.5 million shares valued at VND3.92 trillion.
VIC stole the limelight, jumping to its ceiling price of VND207,200. With 4.7 million shares traded, it contributed more than 22 points to the main index.
VHM reversed earlier losses to close up more than 3% at VND150,300, with a trading volume of nearly 8.7 million shares, adding nearly four points. VRE rose 2.22% to VND29,950, while VPL edged up 0.24% to VND83,900 after falling in the morning session.
DGC gained 2.81% to VND54,800.
Several VN30 stocks posted gains of less than 1%. Decliners narrowed to 13 stocks. HPG fell 1.23% to VND28,200, while STB dropped 1.77% to VND66,500.
Real estate stocks advanced broadly. TDH, DRH, SJC, VPH and OGC hit their ceiling prices. HTN rose 6.34% to VND8,050, and NVL gained 5.93% to VND18,750.
SHB and NVL recorded the highest liquidity, with 47.5 million and 41.3 million shares traded, respectively. HPG followed with 27.7 million shares, and VIX with more than 21.4 million shares.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 2.09 points, or 0.83%, to close at 255.36 points. The northern exchange recorded 57 winners and 66 losers, with trading volume of 80.3 million shares worth VND1.43 trillion.
