President Vo Van Thuong arrives in Japan for official visit

HCMC – Vietnam’s President Vo Van Thuong arrived at Haneda International Airport in Tokyo on the evening of November 26 (local time) for an official visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese State.

President Thuong, together with his spouse and high-level delegation, got a warm welcome at the airport from Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio, officials of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Japan.

The visit, which officially starts on November 27 and lasts until November 30, comes as the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

President Thuong will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, meet with the Japanese Emperor and Empress, and high-ranking leaders of Japan.

He will also speak at the National Diet of Japan, the Japanese legislature, and attend a ceremony for marking the 50th anniversary of the establishement of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
