Quang Ngai Party chief, chairman tender resignation

Must read

HCMC – Le Viet Chu, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, and Tran Ngoc Cang, Provincial Chairman, have tendered their resignation to the Politburo and the Party Secretariat citing personal reasons.

The resignation is aimed at strengthening human resources for the province’s Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure set to take place in October, a representative from the Quang Ngai government told Tuoi Tre Online.

Their resignation letters are awaiting the consideration and approval of the Politburo and Secretariat.

On June 16, the Politburo gave Le Viet Chu, born in 1963, a warning for multiple violations in terms of leadership, direction, the management and use of land, finance, investment and personnel work.

Meanwhile, Tran Ngoc Cang, aged 60, had been disciplined for violations and shortcomings in various fields by the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission.

A former secretary of the Quang Ngai Party Committee admitted that the disciplinary action against the two was not surprising as Chu and Cang had made decisions that are not in line with the procedures and regulations on certain construction projects, land handover and land rent.

Besides this, there were also several shortcomings over the use of the budget for some projects, according to the former secretary.
