HCMC – Four major infrastructure projects with a total cost of over VND283 trillion, or US$12.3 billion, will get off the ground in the northern province of Quang Ninh in October.
The four projects are a Green Halong urban area complex, the Quang Ninh liquefied natural gas -fired power plant, the first phase of the Van Ninh general port and the Dong Trieu golf course, said Pham Hong Bien, head of the office of the Quang Ninh government.
Specifically, the Green Halong urban area complex project, worth over VDN232 trillion, is set to cover over 4,100 hectares in several wards and communes in Halong City and Quang Yen Town. The project, which will be adjacent to the Haiphong – Halong – Van Don expressway, is expected to contribute to developing tourism.
Besides, prior to December 31, Quang Ninh Province will complete the construction of three key projects, the Van Don-Mong Cai expressway, the Halong-Cam Pha seaside road and the Cua Luc 1 Bridge, at a total cost of over VND17 trillion.
Once in place, these projects will help the province fulfill its targets for socioeconomic development, said Bien.
Between January and September, the province posted economic growth of as high as 8.2%. The province has collected over VND34 trillion in revenue for the State budget over the past nine months, reaching 67% of the full-year target, according to the office of the Quang Ninh government.
Besides, in the year to date, Quang Ninh Province has granted investment licenses to 35 projects, with total newly-registered and revised capital of over VND37 trillion, rising two-fold year-on-year, the local media reported.
