HCMC – Saigontourist Group, which organized the Charity Golf Tournament 2022, has presented 1,000 scholarships worth VND1 billion fundraised from the 16th event to the HCMC Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients.

The association will give these scholarships to poor students and the children orphaned by Covid-19.

Vo Anh Tai, deputy general director of Saigontourist Group, said that funds raised from the golf tournament would be used for lending a helping hand to poor children and those kids orphaned by Covid.

This year’s charity golf tournament, which took place at Vietnam Golf & Country Club in Thu Duc City, HCMC on August 6, attracted 150 golfers who were entrepreneurs, managers, and reporters from HCMC and other cities and provinces.

Golfer Do Le Thuan won the first prize, known as Best Gross, at the tournament.

The golf tournament is annually organized for the charity purpose.

Since its first version in 2006, the Saigontourist Group Charity Golf Tournament has attracted 2,400 golfers. The money fundraised from the tournament has been used for charity work, including presenting scholarships to underprivileged students, giving free check-up examinations and treatment, and building houses and bridges for the poor.
