Sawaco to suspend water supply in city for maintenance

HCMC – Water supply will be disrupted for hundreds of thousands of households in 15 districts in HCMC from September 30 until the following morning due to maintenance work at the Thu Duc water treatment plant.

HCMC’s water supplier Sawaco announced that the maintenance will last eight hours, from 21:00 on September 30 to 5:00 on October 1.

During this period, water supply will be completely shut off in six districts: 1, 3, 4, 5, 10 and Phu Nhuan, and partially disrupted in Binh Thanh, Tan Binh, 6, 7, 8, 11, and Thu Duc City.

Additionally, Ward 2 in Tan Binh District and Binh Hung and Phong Phu communes in Binh Chanh District will have low running water during the maintenance.

Sawaco stated that it will provide water through water tank trucks and address any potential issues that may arise during the maintenance.

Thu Duc water plant, located in Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City, was constructed in 1966 with a daily capacity of 450,000 cubic meters. The plant has increased its daily capacity to 850,000 cubic meters and has been a vital source of clean water for millions of residents over the past 50 years.
