HCMC – The HCMC Real Estate Association (HoREA) has proposed developing a 25-kilometer sea-crossing bridge linking HCMC’s Can Gio District and Vung Tau City of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

In a document commenting on HCMC’s planning project until 2060, HoREA proposed adding the bridge to a plan to develop an eastern coastal road from HCMC to Kien Giang Province, Thanh Nien Online newspaper reported.

This is not the first time HoREA has suggested developing a sea-crossing bridge from Can Gio. At an investment promotion conference in 2019, HoREA Chairman Le Hoang Chau proposed developing the bridge.

Le Minh Dung, secretary of the Can Gio Party Committee, said the district had earlier come up with an idea to build a 17-kilometer sea-crossing bridge or a 25-kilometer undersea tunnel to connect Can Gio and Vung Tau.

At present, if an undersea tunnel is developed from the Can Gio sea-encroaching urban area to Vung Tau, it would be some seven kilometers.
