HCMC – The second train for the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line project in Hanoi arrived at Haiphong Port in Haiphong City on February 5.
The train will be transported to a depot at Nhon Station, where its cars will be installed for the pilot operation, reported VietnamPlus news site.
The remaining eight trains for the capital city’s third metro line are being manufactured in France and are expected to be shipped to Vietnam in July this year.
Earlier, the first train was shipped to Haiphong Port on October 18 last year.
Between January 23 and 24, many local residents went to the S1-Nhon station to see the first train for the metro line.
The trains for the metro line are among the most modern products of French multinational rolling stock manufacturer Alstom and are equipped with air conditioners, ventilation, a radio broadcast network, a camera, a fire alarm and LED light systems.
Each train, including four cars, can accommodate 944-1,124 passengers and can travel at a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour.
