HCMC – The Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security has filed charges against Nguyen Hung, deputy head of the Securities Market Surveillance Department under the State Securities Commission (SSC), for allegedly revealing official secrets.

The agency said on April 29 that it was investigating a case in which officials had deliberately revealed official secrets in Hanoi and other provinces, the local media reported.

In related news, at a meeting in late March, the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission reviewed the results of an investigation into SSC’s Party Committee during the 2015-2020 tenure.

Accordingly, the committee had violated the Party’s working rules, and showed a lack of responsibility, slack leadership and poor supervision, letting some individuals and organizations under SSC commit violations while proposing policies and executing the State management role in the stock market. Their violation also paved the way for some individuals and units to violate regulations and manipulate the market to illegally earn profit.

Their violations have caused serious consequences, negatively affected the stock market, damaged the confidence of investors and the prestige of the Party and SSC and sparked public concern.
