HCMC – The Politburo has proposed the Party Central Committee expel a number of officials from the Party, including Tran Duc Quan, secretary of the Party Committee of Lam Dong Province, and Nguyen Nhan Chien, former secretary of the Party Committee of Bac Ninh Province.
At the request of the Central Inspection Commission, the Politburo and the Party Secretariat found that Nguyen Nhan Chien, former secretary of Bac Ninh Province’s Party Committee and former chairman of Bac Ninh’s People’s Committee; and multiple senior officials of Bac Ninh in the 2010-2015 term and the 2015-2020 term had violated Party rules and State regulations.
Their violations have caused serious losses for the State budget, leading to a number of officials facing criminal charges, according to the Politburo and the Secretariat.
Other individuals that violated the Party and State regulations include Tran Duc Quan, secretary of the Party Committee of Lam Dong Province, chairman of Lam Dong Province’s People’s Council; and Tran Van Hiep, vice secretary of the Party Committee of Lam Dong Province, and chairman of Lam Dong Province’s People’s Committee.
Nguyen Thanh Binh, vice secretary of the Party Committee of An Giang Province, and chairman of An Giang Province’s People’s Committee; and Tran Anh Thu, member of the Party Committee of An Giang Province, and vice chairman of An Giang Province’s People’s Committee are found to be involved in an illegal sand mining ring. Both of them had been detained.
