HCMC – The Metro Line 2 project, connecting Ben Thanh Market to Tham Luong Depot, is seeing the faster relocation of infrastructure facilities so that construction work can start next year.

The construction site at Pham Van Bach station on Truong Chinh Street, Ward 15, Tan Binh District, is getting busy. Workers are relocating water supply and drainage systems, and telecommunications and power lines to make room for the Metro Line 2 project.

This phase of site clearance and relocation of infrastructure began in late March 2024, with most work done at night to minimize impact on traffic. Contractors report that construction is active at five locations along the route, with significant progress made at Pham Van Bach station, where drainage work is 76% complete and water supply installation is 46% done.

In terms of site clearance, 27 households and organizations in District 3 have handed over land since the Lunar New Year holiday, though 40 cases remain unresolved. District authorities are pushing to expedite these handovers to the project management board by the end of the second quarter of 2024, ensuring that construction can begin in District 3 and Tan Binh District.
