Sleeper bus plunges into ravine, at least two people dead

HCMC – A sleeper bus carrying 22 people plunged into a 30-meter-deep ravine on the La Son-Tuy Loan Expressway in Danang early this morning, leaving at least two people dead and three others seriously injured.

Around 1:30 a.m. on January 23, the sleeper bus, with Phuong Thanh Tung from Daklak Province behind the wheel, was traveling along the expressway. As it reached Hoa Bac Commune in Hoa Vang District, Danang City, the bus struck the concrete guardrail and fell into the ravine.

The accident claimed the lives of two individuals at the scene and left three others with severe injuries. The other passengers sustained various degrees of harm. All the injured are receiving medical attention at Danang Hospital, reported the local media.

At the time of the incident, the road was having little traffic, and it was raining heavily. Inside the bus, besides the three drivers, an assistant driver was present, with the remaining occupants consisting of passengers traveling from Daklak to Thua Thien-Hue.

The police are currently determining the cause of the incident.
