Sowing the seeds of compassion and social responsibility

Must read

On the way back home from a trip to three children’s shelters in Binh Duong Province, Thao Nguyen, a six-year-old member of the visiting delegation from Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group, still could not stop thinking about the kids she met there.

The journey of nurturing love and compassion

Thao Nguyen and her friends, accompanied by their parents from Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group, have just visited Que Huong Charity Center, Tinh Me, and Cha Hien Children’s Shelters in the southern province of Binh Duong. “I feel sorry for them as they do not have parents by their side,” the little girl shared with her mom after their visit.

As Thao Nguyen’s parents both had regular jobs at big companies in Binh Duong, she had lots of chances to travel. However, out of all those times, the visit to three children’s shelters on August 8 was undoubtedly the most meaningful experience for her.

The three children’s shelters, namely Que Huong, Tinh Me, and Cha Hien, are homes to numerous kids who have lost their parents or been left behind, and who have nowhere else to lean on.

During their visit to these homes, Thao Nguyen and her friends had the opportunity to play with the less fortunate children and sent small gifts to them. The seeds of compassion have also begun to sprout in the minds of these little girls and boys.

“I would love to visit my friends there more often. Next time, I will bring toys to share with them,” Diep Bao Long, an eight-year-old boy, said on the way home after the visit.

The trip not only left a profound impact on the children but also deeply moved the adults. Le Phu Nhuan, a member of the visiting delegation, said: “The resilience of these children truly amazed me. Even though things are tough for them, they still keep smiling and stay positive in life. Perhaps most of them are still kids and not fully aware of their losses, yet they all behave well, are considerate, and self-reliant.

Efforts to bring hope to unfortunate children

Understanding the hardships faced by the underprivileged, Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group has provided financial support for 11 children’s shelters in HCMC and the surrounding areas since March 2023. Each month, Tan Hiep Phat is set to offer aid totaling VND200 million to these homes, including VND95 million in cash and 600 boxes of soft drinks.

David Charles Riddle, CEO of Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group, presents gifts to children at the shelters.

“Children are always a top priority in Tan Hiep Phat’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. During the summer of 2023, Tan Hiep Phat employees brought their kids to visit several group homes to support the underprivileged children. Moreover, this activity also helped sow the seeds of compassion among future generations,” explained David Charles Riddle, CEO of Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group.

In addition to providing financial assistance, Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group is dedicated to extending profound care and affection to underprivileged children. Moreover, the company aims to instill the spirit of “nothing is impossible” among the younger generations. Through these actions, Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group hopes to nurture optimism in children, enabling them to overcome challenges in life, embrace learning opportunities, and persevere in the pursuit of their dreams.

The visits to three children’s shelters in Binh Duong that Thao Nguyen, Bao Long, and their friends experienced in early August are part of Tan Hiep Phat’s continuous attempt to better improve the situations and hopes for the disadvantaged children. It aims to provide long-term support to those children, such as vocational training and school supplies. It is the true care and desire to help that have made Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group’s CSR activities stand out among many others for years.

Notably, the company has been providing an aid of VND50 million every month to the Que Huong Charity Center, which is home to 346 young children in Binh Duong Province, since last year. This aid contributes to covering the meal expenses of students pursuing secondary and high school education.

Social responsibility is always one of the main focuses in Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group’s development strategy. For nearly three decades, the company has been continuously building bridges, providing clean water sources, sending gifts, and offering practical assistance to those in need. These efforts not only support the underprivileged in addressing their life’s obstacles but also lay the foundation for their brighter futures.

The company encourages not only its employees but also their children to participate in volunteer activities. It is a way to sow the seeds of kindness and compassion in the next generations.
