SSI names new deputy general director

HCMC – SSI Securities Corporation (HOSE: SSI) has announced the appointment of Nguyen Duc Thong as deputy general director, effective from March 1.

Born in 1988, Thong has eight years’ experience in major financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Thong served as deputy director of quantitative investment strategy at Morgan Stanley.

He joined SSI in 2019 as director of derivatives trading. During his tenure, he has made substantial contributions to the company’s growth, particularly in revenue generation from new products and services.

Closing the trading session today, February 22, SSI edged down by 0.86% to VND34,650 per share, with a trading volume of 14.4 million shares.

With 217 winners and 263 losers, the VN-Index dipped by 2.73 points, or 0.22%, at 1,227.31 points.

Stock trade dropped by over 15% in volume and 20% in value over the previous session, with more than 840.4 million shares valued at VND17.95 trillion changing hands. Block deals contributed 45.3 million shares worth VND1.1 trillion.

Small and medium stocks performed well, with companies like LAF, DHM, FIT, LSS, PTL, HNG, YEG, and ST8 closing at their ceiling prices.

Bank stock SHB took the lead by liquidity, with a matching volume of 44.9 million shares.

The Hanoi Stock Exchange saw 83 advancers and 77 decliners, with a matching volume of 80.6 million shares valued at VND1.4 trillion.

The HNX-Index moved sideways with a marginal rise of 0.07% and settled at 234.01 points.
