HCMC – Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam will advise on the financing of a project by TGS Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen / Ammoniac, Vietnam’s first green hydrogen manufacturing plant in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh, the bank announced today, May 16.

Standard Chartered’s role as financial advisor will involve structuring and securing the necessary funding for the project’s development and operation.

This partnership has been built on a memorandum of understanding signed at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP28, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Michele Wee, CEO of Standard Chartered Vietnam, said, “The agreement with TGS demonstrates our expertise in crafting tailored financing solutions that support our clients’ sustainability ambitions.” She underscored the bank’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.

Winnie Huynh, founder and CEO of TGS, stressed the importance of this partnership in combating climate change and fostering economic development in the Mekong Delta.

Standard Chartered’s involvement aligns with its broader goal of mobilizing US$300 billion in sustainable finance by the end of this decade.
