Must read

HCMC – Local airlines this morning cancelled many flights from/to some airports in the south-central region today, November 5, due to the impact of storm Goni, the 10th storm expected to hit Vietnam this year.

Vietnam Airlines canceled six flights on routes from Hanoi/HCMC to Binh Dinh Province and from HCMC to Quang Nam Province.

The carrier’s seven other flights from Hanoi/HCMC to the Phu Yen, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh provinces would take off one to seven hours earlier than scheduled.

Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Air Service Company are planning to follow suit if necessary, Tien Phong Online reported.

Meanwhile, Vietjet also announced the cancellation of flights set to depart from Hanoi and HCMC to Quang Nam and from HCMC to Binh Dinh Province.

Passengers affected by the cancellation will be supported with a ticket change. The local airlines also advised passengers who are planning to leave or travel to the airports in the area expected to be hit by the storm to stay updated on information about the storm and flight schedules.

In related news, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has announced that Taxiway E4 of Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dinh Province would temporarily close down until November 10 to cope with the storm.
