HCMC – A sunflower-shaped energy project with petals made by solar panels has been inaugurated at the riverside park along the Saigon River in Thu Duc City. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about renewable energy and environmental protection.

With eight solar panels, the structure can generate an average of 8kWh of electricity per day, or 2.9MWh per year, which is enough to power the park’s daytime operations, such as water pumps and lighting.

The project, a collaboration between the HCMC New Energy Club and several energy companies, features a micro-inverter system that converts direct current (DC) electricity from the solar panels into alternating current (AC) electricity. The system ensures safety and optimizes energy output.

The Sunflower solar has demonstrated the city’s commitment to sustainability. It is expected to raise awareness about the benefits of solar energy and encouraging residents to adopt more sustainable practices.
