Suntory PepsiCo starts work on US$300-million plant in Long An

HCMC – Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam today, April 8, commenced construction on a US$300-million beverage plant in the Mekong Delta province of Long An.

The 20-hectare facility in Huu Thanh Industrial Zone in Duc Hoa District will have an annual capacity of 800 million liters, and become Suntory and PepsiCo’s largest and most advanced plant in the Asia-Pacific region.

The facility, the sixth of the company in Vietnam, will prioritize the use of renewable energy sources like biomass and solar power.

Jahanzeb Khan, CEO and general director of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, said, “The plant in Long An is going to be the largest investment in our history in Vietnam, setting new benchmarks for productivity and sustainability.”

The project is expected to fuel socioeconomic development in Long An Province, according to the provincial government.

Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam currently has five plants and six offices in the country. The company is recognized for its sustainability initiatives, including tree planting, water conservation and recycled material use.
