HCMC – Apart from increasing goods supplies by 30%-50%, many supermarkets are offering big discounts for numerous products to stimulate consumption before Tet, the country’s biggest and longest annual holiday.
Some 1,000 supermarkets, commercial centers and Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food and Co.op Smile stores under Saigon Co.op will offer 10%-50% discounts on 12,000 Tet items from December 31, the local media reported.
In particular, on the days closer to the Tet holiday, Co.opmart and Co.opXtra will launch more promotional programs, while Saigon Co.op will ramp up its supply of fresh and processed products.
The GO!/Big C supermarket chain is discounting 1,000 items by up to 50% for the holiday and holding draws to award over 11,500 prizes worth VND1.5 billion to lucky shoppers.
Lotte Mart is also introducing a series of promotional programs to consumers, reducing the prices of various products such as fruits, pork, beef, fish and confectionery by up to 34%.
Winmart and Winmart+ stores are preparing a supply of fresh food and essential consumer goods, up 20%-30% year-on-year, while offering discounts of up to 50% on Tet items.
Aeon Vietnam is also launching 30%-40% discounts on a wide range of products for Tet.
