Cautious response to U.S. tariff policy changes

Vietnamese businesses face growing pressure to adapt as U.S. tariff and trade policies tighten, particularly with increased trade defense measures in President Donald Trump’s second term. Companies are seeking effective strategies to mitigate the impact of these barriers. A wave of tariff policy changes across the Atlantic – including higher import duties, adjustments to tariff rates in specific sectors, and reciprocal tariffs on goods from other markets – has sparked concerns among Vietnamese businesses, industry support organizations, and government agencies. Many are expressing growing unease and caution over the potential economic pressures these changes could place on Vietnam.
