DANANG – Until now, four industrial zones (IZs) in Danang City have recorded coronavirus infections among the workers, with six enterprises at these IZs temporarily stopping operations or strictly implementing quarantine measures to cope with the spike in new Covid-19 cases.

This information was unveiled yesterday, August 3, by Nguyen Thanh Trung, chairman of the Trade Union of Danang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority (DHPIZA).

Kane-M Co. at Hoa Khanh IZ has allowed its total 410 employees to take leave from work as of July 30 to August 13, while Sinaran Co. at An Don IZ asked their 550 employees to stay home from August 3 to 5 because one of the company’s workers has been confirmed as a Covid-19 patient.

Employees from Kanzaki Co. at Hoa Khanh IZ and Truong Long Co. at Hoa Cam IZ have also been permitted to be on paid leave.

Meanwhile, a worker from the Central Seafood Company at Tho Quang Seafood Industrial Zone has been confirmed as positive for the new coronavirus and the company has put eight people on quarantine. It now operates normally.

At Matrix Company, Hoa Cam IZ, more than 200 employees have been given a leave of absence from work from August 3 to 16 due to one worker contracting the disease.

“The company allows unpaid leave,” noted Trung, adding that businesses at all IZs in the city have implemented measures to protect themselves against Covid-19.

Under the direction of the People’s Committee of Danang City, DHPIZA, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the steering committees for disease prevention in districts are responsible for guiding businesses at the IZs, the hi-tech park and other businesses on how to maintain proper working schedules during this difficult time.
