TPBank to pay 20% stock dividend

HCMC – Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) has plans to distribute a 20% stock dividend to its existing shareholders, with the record date set for September 24.

The bank will issue over 440.3 million new shares on a 10:2 ratio, meaning shareholders will get two new shares for every 10 shares held. Any fractional shares will be canceled.

The issue will be backed by the earnings that had been retained as of December 31, 2023, and will raise the lender’s charter capital by VND4.41 trillion to nearly VND26.42 trillion.

In the first half of 2024, TPBank reported net revenue of VND6.6 trillion, up by 14.2% over the same period last year. Its profit after tax reached nearly VND3 trillion, increasing by 10.34% year-on-year.

Closing the trading session today, September 11, its TPB shares edged up by 0.28% to VND17,850 per share on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, with over 3.9 million shares changing hands.

The VN-Index lost 1.96 points, or 0.16%, to close at 1,253.27 points, with 170 winners and 218 losers.

Trading volume and value dropped by 15% and 18% over the previous session, respectively, with 583.8 million shares worth VND12.84 trillion changing hands. Block deals accounted for 66 million shares valued at VND1.58 trillion.

In the VN30 basket, which tracks the 30 largest-cap stocks, 11 bluechips rose, while 14 others declined. The VN30-Index moved sideways, down 0.18 point, or 0.01%, to 1,293.88 points. Lender SSB fell by 5.88% to VND16,000 per share, making it the biggest decliner in the basket.

Developer NVL took the lead by liquidity with a trading volume of 68 million shares, followed far behind by VIX with a trade volume of 14.8 million shares. NVL’s price fell to its floor price of VND11,850 per share at the close.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slipped by 0.24 point, or 0.1%, to 231.45 points, with 53 advancers and 48 decliners. Trading volume on the northern market reached 42.3 million shares valued at VND818 billion.
