HCMC – In response to the recent devastating typhoon and flooding in northern Vietnam, transportation companies are offering free transport of relief aid to affected areas.
Starting September 10, the Vietnam Airlines Group will cover all transportation costs, including fuel surcharges, for relief aid shipments from airports nationwide to Noi Bai (Hanoi), Cat Bi (Haiphong), Vinh (Nghe An), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Van Don (Quang Ninh), and Dien Bien.
This service is available to Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees, local People’s Committees, the Vietnam Red Cross, and other recognized charities.
Beginning September 10 and running through September 20, Vietjet will also provide complimentary transportation for relief goods to flood-affected areas.
Bamboo Airways has joined the effort, offering free transport for relief aid on flights from HCMC, Danang, Cam Ranh, Quy Nhon, and Dalat to Hanoi from September 11 to September 26.
The Vietnam Railways Corporation has announced similar support, providing free transportation of relief aid from stations including Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Danang, Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, and Thanh Hoa to Giap Bat Station in Hanoi.
