HCMC – Saigon Newport Corporation will apply a fuel price fluctuation surcharge on containers transported by road at Cat Lai and Cat Lai Giang Nam ports from April 25, 2026, with rates linked to daily diesel prices announced by Petrolimex.

The surcharge is introduced following sharp increases in global energy prices in March and April, which pushed domestic fuel prices above VND40,000 per liter at times, raising operating costs for the company.

Surcharge levels will be adjusted based on the daily retail price of DO 0.05S-II diesel in Region 1, updated at 8:00 a.m. by Petrolimex.

For diesel prices between VND25,000 and VND30,000 per liter, the surcharge will be VND35,000 per 20-foot container and VND50,000 per 40- or 45-foot container. The rates will rise to between VND60,000 and VND90,000 when prices range from VND30,001 to VND35,000 per liter.

The maximum surcharge will be VND150,000 for 20-foot containers and VND200,000 for 40-foot and 45-foot containers when diesel prices reach VND45,001 per liter or higher.

The surcharge, which includes value-added tax, will apply to both loaded and empty containers handled or transported by road at the ports, and will only take effect when diesel prices exceed VND25,000 per liter.

The policy will remain in force until further notice. Customers who made payments before April 25 are advised to review updated information on the ePort system before dispatching trucks to the terminals.
