HCMC – Domestic gold prices rose on the morning of April 25, with SJC-branded gold bars increasing by VND800,000 per tael from the close of the previous session, while the U.S. dollar at commercial banks remained unchanged.
At 11:30 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) quoted SJC-branded gold bars at VND166.3 million per tael for buying and VND168.8 million per tael for selling, up VND800,000 on both sides from the close on April 24. The buying–selling spread stood at VND2.5 million per tael. Gold rings were listed at VND165.8 million per tael for buying and VND168.3 million per tael for selling, rising VND800,000 on both sides.
DOJI quoted SJC-branded gold bars at VND166.3 million per tael for buying and VND168.8 million per tael for selling, up VND800,000 against the previous session. Gold rings were also listed at VND165.8-168.8 million per tael, also increasing VND800,000.
Globally, gold traded at around US$4,708.8 per ounce at 11:30 a.m. (Vietnam time), up US$17 per ounce from the same time in the previous session.
Domestic silver prices also edged up this morning, tracking gains in the global market.
Phu Quy Group listed silver at around VND2.87 million per tael for buying and about VND2.96 million per tael for selling. Its silver bars of one kilogram were traded at VND76.48 million per kilogram for buying and VND78.85 million per kilogram for selling.
At other traders, Ancarat quoted silver at VND2.84-2.93 million per tael, while Sacombank-SBJ listed it at over VND2.82 million for buying and more than VND2.91 million for selling.
Globally, silver traded at around US$75.56 per ounce at 10 a.m. (Vietnam time), fluctuating within a range of US$73.84-76.77 per ounce.
On the same morning, the U.S. dollar was unchanged from the previous session at commercial banks. Vietcombank quoted the greenback at VND26,108-26,138 for buying and VND26,368 for selling. VietinBank listed it at VND26,125 for buying and VND26,368 for selling, while ACB quoted VND26,140-26,170 for buying and VND26,368 for selling.
