Must read

HCMC – Travelers entering Vietnam are allowed to go to their places of residence to continue self-isolating after testing negative for the coronavirus twice, with the second sample taken on the sixth day since their immigration.

The Ministry of Health has issued temporary guidelines for people who enter Vietnam on work for over 14 days.

They comprise foreigners holding diplomatic passports, foreign investors, skilled workers and their relatives, foreign students and foreign relatives of Vietnamese citizens, VietnamNet news site reported.

They are required to carry a certificate proving they are not infected with Covid-19, which must be issued by the relevant agencies in their countries within three-to-five days before their date of departure. They will be tested for Covid-19 again upon arriving in Vietnam.

Under the guidelines, apart from going to their places of residence to self isolate until their 14-day quarantine period ends after the second test result comes back negative, these travelers are required to follow Covid-19 prevention and control measures.

The local health authorities will be in charge of monitoring them and taking their samples for RT-PCR tests on the 14th day after their arrival in Vietnam or when they develop symptoms of Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese nationals entering Vietnam from other countries and transiting in countries to which Vietnam is reopening commercial flights will continue to be quarantined for 14 days in line with the prevailing regulations.
