Two projects worth US$5.5 billion to be developed in Quang Tri

HCMC – The north-central province of Quang Tri has cut deals with BB Group JSC and the United States’ Quantum Group on the development of two projects with a total estimated investment of US$5.5 billion.

The two firms will survey and study the investment in the two projects in the East South Quang Tri Economic Zone in Hai Lang District, the local media reported.

The Hai Lang-Quang Tri gas industry center project covering 140 hectares of land requires an investment of US$5 billion.

It will include a gas processing plant, a liquefied natural gas plant and onshore and floating gas storage facilities. The project will be conducted from 2022 to 2030, with the first phase being from 2022 to 2027 and the second phase between 2026 and 2030. US$3.5 billion and US$1.5 billion will be poured into the two phases, respectively.

In addition, the Quang Tri seaport project will cover 275 hectares, need an investment of US$500 million and be executed between 2022 and 2025. The seaport, when in place, would be able to receive ships of up to 180,000 tons.
