HCMC – The construction of two roads leading to the Long Thanh International Airport project in the southern province of Dong Nai will need a total investment of some VND4.8 trillion, according to the project’s feasibility study.
The first route measuring 3.8 kilometers will connect with National Highway 51, while the second spanning 12.5 kilometers will link the first with the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway and run parallel to the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway and National Highway 51, reported Phap Luat Online newspaper.
As construction on the first phase of the airport project is set to begin, it is necessary to build the roads to aid the process. However, the land acquisition to build the two roads is yet to take place as the Government has not approved the feasibility study of the first phase of the project.
Besides this, according to the provincial government, there are several obstacles hindering the implementation of procedures to construct the two routes such as the land acquisition, compensation and resettlement for residents of a 136-hectare area. The southern province has proactively put up boundary markers and added the two routes to its land use plan.
To ensure the two routes will be built soon, Cao Tien Dung, chairman of the provincial government, said the province proposed the Government urge the ministries of Science and Technology and Transport to appraise and submit the feasibility study to the prime minister for approval.
