VCG to pay dividend via share issue

HCMC – Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation, which trades its VCG shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE), would issue 48.6 million shares for its 2022 dividend payment.

According to its dividend payment plan, existing shareholders will get one new share for every 10 shares held, hence a dividend of 10%.

Once that is done, the company’s chartered capital would increase by VND486 billion to VND5,345 billion.

This year, the firm looks to increase its consolidated revenue by 70% year-on-year to VND16,340 billion but its net profit is projected to fall by 8% to VND860 billion.

In the first quarter, its revenue totaled VND1,965 billion, up 47% against the same period in 2022, but its profit after tax dived 98% year-on-year to VND19 billion.

As of March 31, the firm’s total net assets had swelled by VND475 billion versus the beginning of the year at VND32,474 billion.

Closing the trading session today, May 10, VCG edged up 0.25% over the previous session to VND19,700 per share, with a matching volume of more than 5.5 million shares.

With 280 stocks advancing and 105 others falling, the VN-Index of the HOSE added 4.49 points, or 0.43% versus the session earlier at 1,058.26 points.

Trade on the southern bourse surged nearly 27% in volume and 20% in value at over 717.4 million shares worth over VND11.1 trillion, including some 66.7 million shares worth VND1.3 trillion traded in block deals.

Real estate and construction stocks stole the limelight, with many of them such as QCG, VRC, CIG, DLG, ITC, HAR, MCG, UDC, VPH and DXG shooting up to their daily upper limits.

DXG closed at VND14,300 per share and took the lead by liquidity with more than 34.7 million shares changing hands.

Securities stocks were also the major contributors, with VIX, VND and SSI having a matching volume of 14.1 million shares to 19 million shares.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.92%, or 1.94 points, to end at 213.89 points. Advancers outnumbered decliners by 102 to 51.

There were nearly 117.5 million shares worth some VND1.5 trillion transacted on the northern bourse.
