Vietcombank gets new deputy general director

HCMC – Nguyen Viet Cuong, director of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam’s (Vietcombank/VCB) Ba Dinh Branch, was assigned to the post of deputy general director of Vietcombank, with effect from April 26 this year.

Vietcombank in the day held a ceremony at its headquarters in Hanoi to announce leadership changes.

Besides Cuong, the bank’s management board recruited and appointed Tran Thanh Nam, global advisor at digital banking platform Timo, as director of the operation and renovation divisions at Vietcombank starting the same day.

Closing the session on April 28, VCB moved sideways at VND81,500 per share.

As for the benchmark VN-Index of the HCMC market, it shed 2.78 points, or 0.21% against the previous session at 1,350.99, with 240 advancers and 186 decliners. Turnover on the southern bourse contracted 7% in volume and 8% in value over the session earlier at over 485 million shares and VND13.3 trillion. Shares traded in block deals contributed over VND1 trillion to the overall value.

The HNX-Index on the northern bourse gained 3.11 points, or 0.78% compared to yesterday to close at 360.2, with 150 stocks inching up and 78 others edging down.
