HCMC – Three carriers under the Vietnam Airlines Group will add over 255 flights with over 50,000 seats to meet a spike in travels during the Reunification Day (30 April) and International Labor Day (1 May) holiday.
This is the second flight increase by Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO as the four-day weekend holiday will prompt Vietnamese revelers to travel in droves.
Between 24 April and 4 May, the group will focus on raising the frequency of flights on eight key routes linking Hanoi/HCMC with popular destinations in Hue, Danang, Cam Ranh, Dalat, and Phu Quoc.
The group on 29 March announced its first increase in flights for the holiday, with nearly 2,300 domestic and international flights added, equivalent to 450,000 seats, for the seven-day period from 28 April to 4 May.
Overall, the group is set to operate nearly 2,700 flights with over 524,000 seats during the period.
With the flights scheduled for different times throughout the day, passengers will have more options to fly during the holiday, said a Vietnam Airlines representative.
Besides domestic air travel, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has fully resumed international air services to its 15 traditional markets. The carrier is set to soon launch new air links between Danang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Singapore, and launch new air routes to India. It will also increase the frequency of flights on its existing international routes.
