HCMC – Vietnam Airlines Group, including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO, will make more than 20 million seats available for domestic and international flights between April and October, up 25% year-on-year, to meet the surging travel demand.
Of the total, over 14 million seats will be launched for its domestic flights while some six million seats will be added to the group’s international flights, the local media reported.
Vietnam Airlines Group will mainly increase flights on the busy domestic air routes connecting three major cities, Hanoi, HCMC and Danang, to meet the higher travel demand during the upcoming holidays, such as Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1). Some 30 round-trip Hanoi-HCMC flights will be launched and the routes connecting Hanoi and HCMC with Danang will have more than 35 flights.
As for international services, apart from a rise in flight frequency, Vietnam Airlines will launch new routes. Since Vietnam fully reopened its borders in mid-March last year, the carrier has transported over 3.4 million international passengers.
The airline is set to increase flights to Japan and South Korea.
