Vietnam diagnoses six more cases of Covid-19

HCMC – The Ministry of Health has announced six fresh Covid-19 cases, with four patients in Danang City, the country’s largest coronavirus hotspot, one in Quang Nam and one imported case in HCMC, taking the country’s tally to 847 as of tonight, August 10.

An eight-year-old boy is the new patient in Quang Nam Province. He is a grandchild of the 774th patient in the locality.

Five other patients, who reside in the central coastal city of Danang, include a 65-year-old woman who is the wife of a previous Covid-19 patient, two medical workers at Danang Hospital, aged 31 and 28, and a 17-year-old man.

The remaining one patient, a 44-year-old man, returned to Vietnam from Guam Island of the United States through HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport on August 4. His positive test result came out on August 9 and he is being treated at Cu Chi Field Hospital.

Among the 847 confirmed cases in Vietnam, 399 patients have made a full recovery while 13 others have died.

Since July 23, the country has reported 389 locally-transmitted cases in 15 provinces and cities, all of them linked to the Danang coronavirus hotspot.
