HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has embarked on his Europe tour to attend the annual World Economic Forum in Switzerland and pay official visits to Hungary and Romania.

Also joining the tour from January 16 to 23 are the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Education and Training, Science and Technology, as well as the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam and other high-ranking officials.

PM Pham Minh Chinh’s participation in the 54th World Economic Forum (WEF) is the result of a special invitation extended by Klaus Schwab, founder and chairman of the WEF.

Following his engagement at the WEF, the PM will proceed to Hungary and Romania, responding to invitations from his counterparts in these two nations.

WEF Davos 2024, the largest conference ever held after the Covid-19 pandemic, will welcome more than 2,600 delegates, including heads of government and state from nearly 70 countries, royal representatives, and international organizations.

Vietnam has cultivated a longstanding and multi-faceted friendship with Hungary over the past seven decades. In 2018, the two countries elevated their relations to a comprehensive partnership.

Meanwhile, Vietnam has maintained fine relations with Romania since 1950, with bilateral trade between the two countries surpassing US$400 million in 2022, a 15% increase compared to the previous year.
