HCMC – The Ministry of Health confirmed 19 fresh community-transmitted Covid-19 cases and an imported case this evening, February 3.

Of the total locally-transmitted patients, 14 were in Hai Duong, four in Quang Ninh and one in Gia Lai.

Nine out of the cases in Hai Duong are workers in Chi Linh City. They were earlier placed under quarantine, thus posing no risks for community spread.

Five others were linked to the Covid-19 hotspot in Hai Duong’s Le Loi Ward.

Meanwhile, four patients in Quang Ninh Province were in close contact with Covid-19 patients in Chi Linh city.

In addition, the patient in Gia Lai was linked to the pandemic hotspot in Ia Pa District.

Thus, from January 28 to February 3, Vietnam confirmed 329 locally-transmitted Covid-19 cases in 10 localities.

The imported case was a 25-year-old man in Thanh Khuong Commune, Thuan Thanh District, Bac Ninh Province. On February 1, he flew from Japan to the Danang International Airport in Danang City on the VJ5925 fight and has been quarantined in Quang Nam Province since then.

He tested positive for Covid-19 on February 2 and is being treated at the Quang Nam Central General Hospital.
