HCMC – Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has said that Vietnam and China should step up cooperation in cross-border infrastructure projects.

Speaking at his meeting in Hanoi on February 27 with Wang Bin, general director of Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), the deputy PM said PowerChina has expertise in energy and infrastructure development.

He said the two countries could jointly develop cross-border infrastructure projects, which also aligns with the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two neighboring nations.

Vietnam and China had signed two memoranda of understanding to enhance cooperation in cross-border railway development.

Ha encouraged Chinese companies not only to invest but also to share knowledge and technology with Vietnamese partners for mutual benefits. He reiterated Vietnam’s commitment to renewable energy and welcomed PowerChina’s participation in this field.

Ha assured support for PowerChina’s investment endeavors in suitable renewable energy and transportation projects, pledging assistance from relevant ministries, sectors, and local authorities.

Briefing Ha on PowerChina’s activities in Vietnam, Wang Bin said PowerChina had been partnering with local businesses in project implementation and manpower training and that the company had extensive experience in renewable energy and infrastructure development, including expressways and express railways.
