HCMC – Over 200 Vietnamese enterprises had the opportunity to directly discuss with Aeon representatives the possibility of selling their products at the supermarket chain in Vietnam and elsewhere.
The event, which occurred at Aeon–Tan Phu Celadon, HCMC, on September 27, is part of a series of trade promotion events organized by the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in collaboration with Aeon Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The event aims to boost cooperation between distributors and qualified manufacturers, bringing safe and traceable products to consumers, according to Tran Phu Lu, vice deputy of ITPC.
The event will help Vietnamese enterprises expand their markets locally and internationally through the supermarket chain of this distributor, he added.
The trade promotion event gathered over 370 products, including packaged food; instant products, such as tea, coffee, spices and confectionary; packaged dried farm produce; and healthy products, in addition to rice, vegetable and fruits.
Aeon’s criteria include healthy, specialty and traditional products of a locality. Based on the above criteria, 36 of 200 registered enterprises were selected to provide products for the supermarket.
According to Aeon, qualified products must have the required standard certification and a valid public dossier. Besides, the products also need to satisfy other requirements of Aeon Vietnam regarding the manufacturing process and labor employment conditions.
The event, which has been organized annually since 2018 with the participation of an increasing number of qualified suppliers year-on-year, is expected to help Vietnamese enterprises promote their products internationally through the retailer’s system worldwide.
