HCMC – Visa and Visa Foundation have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting small and micro businesses worldwide, including a five-year pledge of US$100 million to assist underserved and women-led firms in Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies.

The announcement was made during the APEC Leaders’ Week and related events held recently in San Francisco in the U.S.

With the US$100-million pledge, Visa Foundation aims to promote digital financial inclusion, stimulate job creation, and increase access to capital.

Additionally, Visa has launched a new initiative to further accelerate the digital enablement of underserved small and micro businesses in the U.S. and developing economies, particularly those in Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Dung Dang, Visa Country manager for Vietnam and Laos, said, “Small and micro businesses are the backbone of Vietnam’s growing economy, and Visa has been a proud supporter facilitating their growth with secure and convenient digital payment solutions.” She stated that Visa has plans to introduce innovative financial and payment solutions in Vietnam.

In 2023, Visa has successfully implemented its SMB Accelerator Program, benefiting around 20,000 businesses and partners nationwide. At the global level, Visa has surpassed its three-year goal of digitally enabling 50 million small and micro businesses by June 2023.
