HCMC – The first three kilometers of the 7.4-kilometer Prenn Pass leading to Dalat City in Lam Dong Province has been reopened to traffic after a 10-month closure for upgrade and expansion.

The People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province held an event on December 14 to put the three-kilometer section of the pass back into operation.

This section connects the Ba Thang Hai Street intersection and the three-way junction leading to Tuyen Lam Lake, and passes through a densely-populated area.

It serves as a vital route connecting Dalat City to multiple tourist destinations within the province, including the Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area.

The remaining 4.4 kilometers of the pass from Datanla Waterfall to the foothills of the pass is currently under upgrade and it will be completed ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday which will take place in February next year.

Lam Dong began work on the Prenn Pass upgrade and widening project worth VND552 billion in February this year. Upon completion, the pass will have its width doubled to 15.5 meters, featuring four traffic lanes.
