HCMC – Construction of two sections of Beltway No. 2 is scheduled to begin in December this year when Thu Duc City completes compensation, resettlement support, and the handover of over 70% of cleared land.

In 2023, the HCMC People’s Council approved the construction of two sections of HCMC Beltway No. 2. The first section spans 3.5 kilometers from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Street, with a total investment of VND9,328 billion. The second section stretches 2.8 kilometers from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street, with an investment cost of VND4,543 billion.

These sections require the revocation of 61.51 hectares of land in Thu Duc, affecting about 935 households in wards like Tang Nhon Phu B, Phuoc Long A, Phuoc Long B, Binh Tho, Truong Tho, and Linh Dong.

HCMC Beltway No. 2 has a total length of 64 kilometers, with 50 kilometers of it already opened to traffic. The remaining 14 kilometers are distributed across four different sections that have yet to be completed.
