HCMC – A project to upgrade seven train stations on the northern rail links will get off the ground in April, according to the Transport Construction Investment Management Authority under the Ministry of Transport.

Design appraisal and cost calculation have been completed while the project is in the process of selecting contractors, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

The upgrade for three passenger train stations and four cargo train stations will cost over VND475 billion, sourced from the State budget.

The three passenger train stations are Gia Lam on the Hanoi-Dong Dang rail link, and Cam Giang and Hai Duong on the Gia Lam-Haiphong railway. The four cargo train stations are Vat Cach, Dong Dang, Lang Son and Xuan Giao.

The project is set to rehabilitate train stations and platforms and rebuild platform roofs.

Eligible contractors for the project will be named by April 10.
