HCMC – The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has decided to distribute 20 million doses of the Vero Cell Covid-19 vaccine to 60 cities and provinces.
An Giang and Binh Duong will receive the largest amounts with one million doses each, followed by HCMC with nearly one million doses, the local media reported.
Kien Giang and Dong Nai will get 800,000 doses each, while 19 other cities and provinces will receive 400,000-500,000 doses each.
In addition, Hanoi was given 139,000 doses and Danang 100,000 doses. Other localities will receive at least 50,000 doses each.
The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology asked localities to immediately administer the vaccines in a safe and effective manner.
Vietnam has received more than 61 million Covid-19 vaccine doses and 56 million doses have been distributed to cities and provinces.
As of October 6, over 48.8 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered to local residents, including both shots to some 12 million people. Half of the residents aged 18 and above in Vietnam have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and 16.5% of them have been fully vaccinated.
